Discover e-volunteering is open – 4 grants x 2000 euro are waiting!

We would like to kindly ask you for the support with spreading the word on the Discover e-volunteering grant competition in your country. We are convinced, that with your help we will be able to reach more NGOs that can benefit from the competition.
What do we search for?
Ideas for e-volunteering projects – projects, in which volunteers do their tasks via the Internet. They can e.g. share or gather information, support others, teach others (e-learning), become a civic jornalists, etc.
Who can take part in the competition?
Any European NGO.
What to win?
4 grants x 2000 euro and the participation in international workshops and mentoring sessions.

Eur@dioNantes has launched a Call for interns.
Eur@dioNantes, a European Radio station based in Nantes and supported by the European Commission, has launched a call for interns.
High-level bilingual (in French) students in political science, journalism or European studies, interested in European issues and who would like to get a formative experience in the world of New European Media are invited to apply.
The internship will start on the 25th August 2014 in Nantes and run up until the 20th February 2015 (documents have to be returned as soon as possible).
Interns will get a monthly allowance of about 436,05 €. Interns will have the unique opportunity to be trained by French professionals and to start their career in a dynamic European environment.

The Anna Lindh Foundation and the European Institute of the Mediterranean
have launched the seventh edition of the international competition of
short stories and tales “A Sea of Words”, aimed at young people from the
43 countries of the Euro-Mediterranean area.
This year, the competition is aimed at producing stories or short stories
focused on the fight against racist and discriminatory speech online.
Participants should be young people between 18 and 30 years old, who are
citizens of one of the 43 countries of the Euro-Mediterranean space.
The short stories must be original and unpublished works, of maximum 2,500
words and can be written in any of the official languages of the
They must address issues related to intercultural dialogue, mainly of a
political, socio-cultural, economic and environmental nature.
The authors of the 15 best short stories will be awarded with the
publication of their short stories and will also be invited to the awards’
presentation ceremony in Barcelona, Spain on 20th October 2014.
During the days following the awards’ presentation, the winners of the
contest will be invited to participate in a programme of cultural visits

World Nomads has launched the Travel writing scholarship 2014.
Students and nonprofessional writers from any nationality (but with
exceptional written English skills) are invited to submit applications for
this travel writing scholarship.
Three aspiring writers will win a 10-day travel writing trip across
Europe. They will also attend a two-day workshop in Berlin, Germany. They
will then travel to multiple destinations alone and document their trips.
Apart from the trip, the winners will also be enrolled in a travel writing
course with 3 months unlimited access to the course.
The scholarships will cover airfare, accommodation and travel insurance.
